The 2020 Cowtown Marathon Is Upon Us

Fort Worth (WBAP/KLIF) – The 2020 Cowtown Marathon is happening in this weekend and the weather is going to be fabulous, much unlike the inaugural race 41 years ago when runners were met with ice, snow and frigid temperatures.

Some 25-thousand runners will be on hand to for the myriad of events.

This year the race got a last minute influx of registrations from folks who were forced to change plans because of the coronavirus impacted Tokyo Marathon.

Tens of thousands of would-be participants had to change course when the organizers closed the race to all but 600 elite runners.

The Cowtown Marathon is a nonprofit organization promoting health and fitness in the community. By running Cowtown races, runners are supporting The C.A.L.F. (Children’s Activities for Life & Fitness) Program, which provides training to help children develop a lifelong love of fitness.
