Fort Worth (WBAP/KLIF) – There was a controversial vote taken by the Fort Worth ISD Board last night; one that makes the first zoning change in 20 years.
Dozens of families from South Hills Elementary are against moving students from high-performing McClean Middle School to the lower performing Rosemont Middle School, where a massive fight just hours earlier injured nine people.
One parent asked why more students are being sent there, if they can’t control they already have; another said the sending McClean students to Rosemont is like “modern day segregation.”
District leaders say the plan helps with efficiency.
Changes take effect in 2023.
