DENTON (WBAP/KLIF)- The University of North Texas has been forced to cancel a spring study abroad trip to China due to the Coronavirus. But other current student abroad programs in countries such as Italy and Japan are still on going.
Leigh Anne Gullett with the university says they will continue to monitor the situation closely.
“We are regularly in touch with any of our students who are studying abroad in other areas to make sure that they are not effected and they are as well taken care of as possible,” said Gullet.
UNT currently has no more study abroad trips to China planned in the near future as the global number of confirmed cases of the Coronavirus rises above 80 thousand. Just a 53 of those are in the United States and just one of those is in Texas.
