Dallas Tornado Victims Could Soon Be Fined

(WBAP/KLIF) DALLAS, TX — The city of Dallas is planning to enforce housing codes on homeowners with broken windows, scattered debris, and collapsed structures.

That means that residents in violation may be fined or summoned to court. in a memo to Mayor Eric Johnson, City Manager T.C. Broadnax plans to send letters to 100 residents warning of violation fines of between $50 and $2,000.

According to the Dallas Morning News, the city cites health and security concerns as reasons for the push.
