Dallas Bakery Reopens in Shopping Center Destroyed by Tornado

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – A Dallas bakery is back open months after it was forced to close following the EF-3 tornado that tore through its shopping center.

‘Nothing Bundt Cakes’ at the Southeast corner of Preston and Royal is the first business in the shopping center to reopen after roofs were ripped off restaurants and buildings were smashed by the storm. Store Manager Ashley Rios is confident the area will come back from the devastation.

“I think we will come back even stronger,” said Rios. “We have received such a tremendous amount of support from our community. They have come in to buy from us just to support us.”

Employees at the bakery, which reopened in late January, were glad to reopen just in time for Valentines Day.

“It’s our busiest day of the year,” Rios said.

Other business are still weeks or months out from their re-open, but are assuring customers that they too will be back.
