A Tarrant county woman is going to prison for embezzling from little league baseball.

Mansfield (WBAP/KLIF) – A parent volunteer who embezzled nearly $300,000 from the Mansfield Youth Baseball Association has been sentenced to 8 years in prison. Jennifer Witteveen has also been ordered to repay the money she stole while serving as the organization’s volunteer treasurer. When Witteveen was caught, she claimed she had taken the money to pay her family’s medical bills, however an analysis showed she actually spent it on fast food, restaurants, and personal items. She eventually pleaded guilty to the charges, and was sentenced Wednesday.
