ROCKWALL, WBAP/KLIF – A 77 year old woman was treated and released after suffering injuries when she fell to the ground during a purse snatching inside the Walmart store on West Rusk Street Saturday, around dinnertime. Rockwall Police Sgt. Aron McGrew says the woman had just entered the Walmart store, followed by two male suspects who then tried to force the purse from her arm, pulling her down as they made off with the goods. McGrew says the woman was treated and released, but will suffer with some pain from the injuries received.
The suspects were reported to have left the parking lot in a silver Ford Focus sedan; police saw that vehicle in the area after they say the suspects had begun using the victim’s credit cards to make purchases.Sgt. McGrew says after a one mile chase by police, two suspects were taken into custody. 34 year old David E. Heffner and 29 year old Jessie James Caston Jr. of Garland are each charged with first degree felony aggravated robbery of an elderly person (over the age of 65), and each held on 100-thousand dollars bond.
