FORT WORTH (WBAP/KLIF)- Former Fort Worth Police Officer Aaron Dean has been indicted by a Tarrant County Grand Jury for the murder of Atatiana Jefferson. Dean is accused of shooting and killing Jefferson through a window inside her family’s home while dean was responding to an open door call. It happened after 2:30 am on October 12th, Jefferson’s neighbor called the non emergency line to have police check on the house after noticing the door was open. Jefferson was playing video games with her nephew inside the house at the time and didn’t know police were outside.
Police say when she heard noises in the backyard, she grabbed a gun from her purse. Dean, who allegedly didn’t announce himself, ordered her to put her hands up before firing one round through her window. A trial date has not yet been announced.
