Dallas (WBAP/KLIF) – Two overnight murders put Dallas’ homicide rate at 199 this year, one shy of a record set in 2007 of 200.
Around 10:15 last night, Dallas police say a pizza deliver man shot two men who tried to rob him at a northeast Dallas apartment complex; one died, the other was injured. The incident happened at the Village Gate Apartments on Southwestern Blvd.
Around the same time, a man was killed during an altercation at the Super 7 Hotel on independence in the Red Bird

area.
Meantime, Dallas Police Association President Mike Mata applauds Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson‘s no-nonsense stance on crime-reduction.
Mata says, “we are are judged by results,” he added that Dallas Police Chief Renee Hall has not delivered on the things she promised regarding tackling crime in the city.
Listen:
As Dallas nears a record homicide rate, he continued to blast the police chief, there is nothing that she has presented since she has been here to prevent it.
