PENSACOLA – The FBI has announced it’s investigation into Friday’s shooting at Pensacola’s Naval Air Base is being conducted as a probe into a terrorist attack. A 21 year old Saudi national who was training at that facility is believed to be the lone suspect who opened fire inside a base classroom, killing three people and injuring eight more. The suspected gunman was killed in a shootout with police.
Federal officials confirm that additional Saudi students on the base have been detained and are a part of the investigation. It’s reported one individual videotaped the building where the shooting occurred as the shooting was underway. Authorities say their main goal is to determine if that suspect acted alone or worked with others.
Officials state the suspect watched videos of mass shootings with others in the week prior to the shooting.
