Suspect Dead Following Police Chase that Ended in an Arlington Kroger Parking Lot

ARLINGTON (WBAP/KLIF)- Arlington Police say a suspect is dead following a police chase that went into a Kroger parking lot on Abram Street and Bowen Road.

Lieutenant Chris Cook said the suspect lost control of the car, hit a utility poll and two unoccupied park cars in the parking lot. No one else was hurt.  He said the suspect was a known offender driving a stolen truck out of Grandbury. “We are pretty confident this offender was out on bond for 2 felony cases in Arlington and potentially other cases in Irving,” Cook said.
When it comes to police chases, Cook said the department has specific policies where a sergeant balances the risk to the public to the nature of the offense committed. “I think luckily no innocent people were injured..I think if that occurred there would be more scrutiny on that decision,” he said.

He said that decision will be reviewed as part of the investigation.
