Mexican Cartels Believed Responsible for Attack on Town Near Texas; Many Dead.

PIEDRAS NEGRAS – Media reports a likely cartel attack and shootout on the town of Villa Union, in the state of Coahuuila has killed at least 14 people including that of shooting deaths of suspected gang members by Mexican security forces.

Officials say the town was attacked with rapid gunfire, leaving the dead scattered on town streets and the municipal building riddled with bullet holes.  At least 7 town employees are missing and presumed kidnapped and or killed by the attacking cartel.  The attack came a few days after President Trump announced he wants to label Mexican drug cartels as terrorist groups.  Mexico’s officials have declined a joint attack strategy with the United States.

Mexican security forces are involved in an ongoing manhunt for those they believe responsible for Saturday’s attack on Villa Union.
