Metroplex Holiday Shopping Season May Be Off to Record Numbers

DALLAS – Staff with the Dallas Galleria say the final numbers have yet to be tallied, but they say they expect as much as a 30-percent hike in holiday sales for Dallas Galleria retailers as compared with last year.

Holly Quartaro with the Galleria says Black Friday shoppers were waiting for others to leave before they could find a place to park their vehicles and get inside to spend money as well.  She reminds shoppers facing frustrations with parking that valet parking services are available.

Quartaro attributes the apparent increase in holiday shopping to increased consumer confidence, less unemployment, and a shorter holiday shopping season of roughly three weeks this year.
