GARLAND – WBAP/KLIF – Garland Police seek tips to help them find the driver of a black Ram Big Horn pickup truck believed to have fled the scene of a deadly hit and run crash just before midnight Friday. It killed a 46 year old woman from Rowlett, Joyce Cawis.
Witnesses say the driver entered the intersection of Forest Lane and Jupiter, crashed into Cawis, got out of the pickup, then into another black passenger car, and then fled the scene without rendering aid. Cawis was described as unconscious at the scene, and pronounced dead at a hospital.
The driver sought is described as a Hispanic man with a short fade haircut. He was believed to be wearing a black soccer-style jersey with white writing on it, and black shorts with leggings.
Anyone with information related to the driver’s identity or the hit and run is asked to call Garland police at 972-485-4840, and tips may also be submitted anonymously to Garland Crime Stoppers.
