Former Texas Ranger Josh Hamilton Arrested, Charged with Injuring Daughter

FORT WORTH (WBAP/KLIF)- Former Texas Ranger outfielder Josh Hamilton turned himself in Wednesday afternoon in Fort Worth on an allegation of injury to a child, a 3rd degree felony. According to an arrest affidavit obtained by WBAP/KLIF News, one of Hamilton’s daughters made an outcry to her mother saying Hamilton threw a water bottle at her in an overhand motion, which hit her in the chest. The affidavit goes on to say he then threw a chair at her; hitting her in the leg and then picked her up from her sweatshirt, placing his hand on the side of her face to pin her to the bed as he punched her in the back, leaving her with scratches and bruises. According to the report the little girl said he was cursing and yelling at her after she made a comment which upset him. Hamilton’s daughter told police after he finished hitting her he said: “I hope you go in front of the f***ing judge and tell them what a terrible father I am so I don’t have to see you anymore and you don’t ever have to come to my house again.”

A $35,000 bond was set with a conditions not to have contact with one of his daughters, and that was expanded to any child under 17.
