Austin (WBAP/KLIF) – Lawyers for the Texas Democratic Party asked a Travis County judge on Tuesday to force the release a secret recording of the Texas House speaker.
Democrats want political activist Michael Quinn Sullivan to make the recording available by Friday.
Sullivan alleged over the summer that during a meeting with Speaker Dennis Bonnen and one of his lieutenants, Bonnen offered favors to benefit Sullivan’s website, if it dug up dirt on Republicans.
Also on Tuesday, the Texas Rangers asked House members for more details on the scandal, according to the Dallas Morning News.
