Globe Life Park is losing the Texas Rangers but Will Gain Two New North Texas Sports Teams

ARLINGTON (WBAP/KLIF)- Globe Life Park may be losing the Texas Rangers but it will be home to two new sports. Arlington Mayor Jeff Williams says Globe Life Park isn’t going anywhere, and there’s a lot planned for it.

GLP will be home to the North taxes soccer club, a professional development team for FC Dallas, for the next three seasons.

GLP will also host XFL team the Dallas renegades in 2020.

Williams said the plan is to expand current offices, retrofit the field and there’s even talks about perhaps bringing condos in for people to live there. “There’s great opportunities there…the value of the current Globe Life Park is tremendous,” he said.

He said with the Texas Rangers moving to the New Globe Life Field, Arlington’s entertainment district will continue to be the go-to spot for North Texas Sports and will bring in even more people to the region.
