Texas Republicans Speak Out Against Pelosi’s Impeachment Inquiry, Call It Illegal

WASHINGTON (WBAP/KLIF) – Texas Republicans say they’re united against House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s announcement of an impeachment inquiry against President Trump for allegedly asking the Ukranian President to investigate the business practices of Hunter Biden, son of Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden. Speaking with WBAP/KLIF, U.S. Republican Congressman from Texas, Lance Gooden said the inquiry is illegal because Pelosi can’t launch an impeachment investigation without a House vote. Gooden has also introduced a Resolution to remove the Chairman of the Judiciary Committee, Jerry Nadler, for declaring he was “impeaching the President- right now”. Gooden says Nadler doesn’t have the authority to make such a declaration or launch impeachment proceedings without a House vote either.

Earlier on Tuesday, six Texas Democrats in the U.S. House committed their support for impeachment proceedings against the President, to total 13. In an interview with WBAP/KLIF, U.S. Republican Congressman from Texas, Dr. Michael Burgess said, those Representatives are simply trying to make a political ploy for the next election. Burgess indicated that polling data in their districts shows constituents do not support impeachment against the President.
