WILMER (WBAP/KLIF News) — A SWAT situation at an apartment complex in Wilmer is now over.
Police had initially surrounded an apartment near I-45 and Belt Line for several hours Wednesday morning, where an armed man had holed himself up inside.
There were reports of a young child being inside — neighbors say they heard officers tell the man to let his son go.
The child is believed to be safe, but police have not confirmed anything about any injuries.
Police do say however that the area is now safe.
