U.S. Supreme Court Clears Pentagon Funds to Build Border Wall

By Kimberly James; WBAP and KLIF News, Dallas, Texas.

By a 5 to 4 vote, Supreme Court justices Friday voted to allow the White House to use approximately $2.5 billion dollars in Defense Department money to build sections of a border wall with Mexico.

The High Court says it will lift a freeze on the money put in place by a lower court.  The Trump Administration may now use the money to begin work on four contracts it has awarded.

A trail court initially froze the funds in May, and an appeals court kept that freeze in place earlier this month.  The freeze prevented the government from using the Pentagon funds to replace existing sections of barrier in Arizona, California and New Mexico with stronger fencing.
