Irving Mom Says ‘Demons’ Told her to Kill Her Son

Tisha Sanchez (Irving Police Department)

Irving, TX (WBAP/KLIF) – An Irving mother has been charged with capital murder in the connection with the death of her son.

8-year old Joevani De La Pena was found dead Sunday morning inside an RV located in an Irving backyard on Peach Tree lane.

Police say Tisha Sanchez said “demons told her to sacrifice her son.”

Sanchez’ sister told police that she confessed and begged forgiveness shortly before the boy was found.

The sister who called police, also told them that she believed the boy had been suffocated with a pillow.

Irving Police told WFAA-TV that it was not their first run-in with Sanchez. They were called to a Ross store last year were she was seen pulling the child around the store “in an alarming manner.”

CPS investigated but did not remove the boy from the home.

Sanchez is jailed on 2-million dollars bond.
