DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF)- The murder trial date has been set for fired Dallas Officer Amber Guyger in the shooting death of Botham Jean.
Testimony for the murder trial is scheduled to begin September 23rd.
Jury selection will begin September 6th, exactly one year after Jean’s death. Potential jurors will first fill out a questionnaire, and those selected will return September 13th for questioning.
Guyger was off-duty but in uniform when she killed jean in his own apartment. Guyger says she mistook his apartment for her own and thought Jean was a burglar. There will likely be two pretrial hearings in July, but those dates have not been set.
