AUSTIN (WBAP/KLIF) – The State of Texas unveiled a special ‘Texas edition’ of the Vietnam War 50th Commemoration book on Memorial Day.
The Vietnam War 50th Commemoration book A Time to Honor: Stories of Service, Duty, and Sacrifice book details heroic actions taken and sacrifices made in Vietnam, chronicles the events of the time, provides modern day reflections of veterans and pays tribute to all who served in Vietnam.
Governor Greg Abbott encouraged Vietnam veterans to pick up their own copy.
“The Texas Veterans Commission will provide these books at locations around the State of Texas,” Governor Abbott said. “It’s free. All you have to do is come in and look at it. Remember what you have done for America.”
The governor said Tuesday at a Memorial Day Event at the Texas Veterans of Foreign Wars that he hopes the books allow Vietnam vets to reconnect with the benefits he said they deserve.
