Dallas (WBAP/KLIF0 – Governor Greg Abbott is speaking out against the new policies announced by Dallas County District Attorney John Creuzot.
Late last week, Creuzeot announced several changes in the way crimes would be prosecuted, to include dismissing all misdemeanor marijuana cases.
Creuzot also says he’ll decline to prosecute theft of personal items less than 750 dollars unless the theft is for financial gain.
In a tweet, Governor Abbot posted a link to a Dallas morning news opinion piece, saying, “When will it end?” The governor called Creuzot’s plan “wealth redistribution by theft.”
Dallas Co. District Attorney stokes crime by refusing to prosecute theft of personal items worth less than $750. If someone is hungry they can just steal some food. If cold, steal a coat. Where does it end? It’s wealth redistribution by theft. #txlege https://t.co/dqfYogr4NX
