Dallas-Fort Worth (WBAP/KLIF) – Rideshare safety is top of mind following the tragic death of a South Carolina college student who was killed after getting into a vehicle that she thought was an Uber.
Three important things to do before getting into a rideshare vehicle:
*Check the make, model and license plate
*Check the driver’s photo in the app
*Ask the driver, “What’s my name?”
Uber offers other safety tips on its website which include, riding in the back seat and sharing your trip details with a friend.
Meantime, police later arrested and charged 24-year-old Nathan Rowland with murder and kidnapping in connection to 21-year old Samantha Josephson’s death.
