CARROLLTON (WBAP/KLIF)- An 18-year-old woman has come forward and identified herself as the mother of an infant found deceased in a Carrollton cemetery in March.
Carrollton Police said Monday that the woman came forward after seeing news coverage of the incident and is cooperating with the investigation.
“Detectives are still investigating the circumstances, awaiting test results, and awaiting consultation with the Dallas County District Attorney’s office.” said Office Jolene DeVito.
According to Police, on Monday, March 11, a caretaker at the Perry Cemetery, 1805 N. Perry Rd., emptied what he knew to be an out of place flowerpot and discovered the body of a deceased infant beneath the pot’s soil. The infant was a girl, 34 weeks to full term, and weighed just under six pounds.
