Carrollton Police Investigating After Baby Found Dead in Flower Pot

CARROLLTON (WBAP/KLIF) – The Carrollton Police Department is asking for the public’s help investigating the death of an infant.
According to Police, on Monday, March 11, a caretaker at the Perry Cemetery emptied what he knew to be an out of place flowerpot and discovered the body of a deceased infant beneath the pot’s soil. The medical examiner later determined the baby was a girl, 34 weeks to full term, weighing just under six pounds, with the umbilical cord still attached. Her race could not definitively be determined.

“We are awaiting further test results to determine whether she was born alive,” said Officer Jolene Devito. “Information from the reporting caretaker indicates the flowerpot was placed in the Perry Cemetery sometime between Wednesday, February 27 and Saturday, March 2.”

Anyone with any information on the case is asked to contact Carrollton police.
