Arlington, TX (WBAP/KLIF) – Five months after a violent road rage incident in Arlington, the suspect has turned himself in.
Police believe 29-year old Andrew Cantu fled to Mexico after the incident on October 22nd.
Police say after a fender-bender on I-20 near Collins Street, Cantu allegedly fired shots into a car, striking the driver the head in front of his wife and kids and that he then drove off in his BMW hatchback.
Lt. Chris Cook with Arlington police told our media partner WFAA-TV that numerous police tips helped to identify Cantu, who recently returned back to Texas to turn himself in. He says, “It looks like his conscience finally got the best of him.”
Meantime the shooting victim victim survived.
Arlington Police launched a road rage task force after the incident; as a result, thousands of citations have been issued in the city.
