Dallas-Fort Worth (WBAP/KLIF) – There is widespread damage, power outages and downed power lines as a result of powerful storms that moved through the area this morning. At Grand Prairie airport some planes were overturned in a hangar. Major damage is also being reported at the Amazon logistics facility near DFW Airport.
Oncor says its crews are working as quickly as possible to restore power.
There are also moderate delays at the airports … call ahead.
Our Scott Sidway went live on Facebook for a look at damage to Grand Prairie Airport:
The sun is up, and it’s not looking good at Grand Prairie Municipal Airport. Here are our first shots of some of the planes damaged and flipped by this morning’s heavy winds and storms. Officials say could be 12-15 destroyed. @WBAP247NEWS @570KLIF pic.twitter.com/CZE3UifexQ

Here are some shots of damaged hangers at Grand Prairie Municipal Airport. Official tells me hard to tell damage now, but could be 12-15 planes “completely destroyed.” Can’t see them because they’re still assessing. @WBAP247NEWS @570KLIF pic.twitter.com/oxoasG87Y8

Minor damage to some homes and outbuildings in the @CityofGodley No injuries and the fire department continues to work the scene. I’m in route to Hwy 4 south of Cleburne to a tiny house blown over with injury. pic.twitter.com/HPg4csRxhG

Our kids’ swing set was blown over 30 feet across our backyard. So sad, but we’re happy nothing else happened. #iamup #wfaa #desoto #texas pic.twitter.com/GclHJrAqNk

Reports of flipped over planes at the Grand Prairie Municpal Airport, but all I’ve seen so far is damage to structures there and at neighboring businesses. Expect to see a lot more of this when the sun comes up. @WBAP247NEWS @570KLIF pic.twitter.com/irovKqfMd1
