WASHINGTON (AP) – President Trump’s former campaign chairman Paul Manafort has been sentenced to an additional 3 1/2 years in prison.
U.S. District Judge Amy Berman Jackson handed the sentenced down in a Washington D.C. courtroom Wednesday.
She had previously told the court she would give Manafort some credit for having pleaded guilty in September to two counts of conspiracy.
Before learning his fate, Manafort had apologized for his crimes before the court while reading his statement from his wheelchair.
Last week, a judge in Virginia sentenced Manafort to 47 months in prison for tax and bank fraud charges.
The convictions are in connection with Special counsel Robert Mueller’s probe and Manafort’s charges are related to his foreign consulting work on behalf of a pro-Russia Ukrainian political party.
