Fort Worth is Trying to Lure Stanley Black & Decker From Farmers Branch

Fort Worth (WBAP/KLIF) – Officials at the Stanley Black & Decker plant in Farmers Branch is eyeing Fort Worth and Dayton, Ohio as it plans an expansion.

The Fort Worth Star-Telegram says the company is planning to add a third production line to continue making its famous hand tools.

Fort Worth is actively pursuing the company, which would bring 500 high-paying jobs to for city, with a five year tax abatement worth about a million dollars. It’s expected that the company would pay it back within two years.

Fort Worth stands to gain 1.6-million dollars in news tax revenue over that five year period.

During a presentation before city council Tuesday, the company revealed plans to invest 30-million in new construction by the end of 2020.
