
White Settlement, TX (WBAP/KLIF) – A man in White Settlement really didn’t want to go to jail, but made a not so smart move to in an effort to avoid it.
The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports that 19-year old Matthew Jude Gorman pleaded with with police to let him go after a foot chase in connection with an alleged fight earlier this month.
Police say offered the arresting officer $1,000 to let him go, and reportedly “fainted” after being told he faced charges of bribery – a second degree felony – and evading arrest.
The ordeal began when Gorman was identified by a victim in connection with a fight. no charges have been filed related to the fight.
He’s free on $25,000 bond.
