Garland, TX (WBAP/KLIF) – A man who reportedly said he was God, led Garland and Dallas police on a chase Tuesday afternoon but was eventually arrested at a convenience store. Police say the suspect had a large machete type knife strapped to his side.
It started just before three o’clock when a Garland officer saw a vehicle speeding in a school zone. The vehicle was pulled over and the driver got out, yelled at police then sped away. The officer caught up with the man a second time and he claimed to be “God.”
He took off again on a slow speed chase. A Dallas helicopter tracked the suspect to a convenience store, where he was arrested.
