(WBAP/KLIF) – Authorities near Houston continue to search for the suspect in the killing of a 7-year-old girl.
Investigators believe the gunman fired a series of shots while driving alongside a car the girl was riding in. Jazmine Barnes was in the car with her mother and sisters when she was shot. Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said Monday it appears the shooting was random but assured that the department is dedicated to finding the killer.
“We are going to do everything in our power to make sure that we find the person responsible for this crime,” Gonzales said.
The girl’s father Chris Cevilla pleaded with the Houston community Monday to come forward with any information on the shooting.
“I just want anybody that knows anything about the murder of my daughter to step up as if it were your own,”
Cevilla said.
