DALLAS – WBAP/KLIF – Winter weather is taking aim at North through Central Texas on Thursday, bringing a mixed bag of precipitation and strong winds to the region.  A wind advisory is posted for much of North Texas from 3 pm Thursday through noon on Friday.  Winds gusting to 50 miles an hour will be possible

Strong storms are expected to bring hail and lightening to the area, focusing more so east of the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex.  Snowfall may occur anywhere west of the Interstate 35 area, but is most expected west of Jacksboro to Lampasas.  Because surface temperatures are above freezing, snow is expected to turn to slush, and up to 3 inches may accumulate, affecting drivers on US 281.

Friday morning, a mix of rain and snow is expected mostly west of Sherman to Dallas to Killeen.  Accumulations are not expected.
