KRNB (WBAP/KLIF) – Dozens of House Republicans have objected to gay rights language in NAFTA replacement deal.
Thirty-eight House GOP members against the inclusion of protections for LGBT workers in the newly negotiated trade proposal with Mexico and Canada.
Politico reports, the lawmakers want President Trump to nix language protecting workers from “discrimination on the basis of sex, including sexual orientation and gender identity” from the agreement.
In a letter dated November 16, the group said “a trade agreement is no place for the adoption of social policy.”
Meantime, Democrats want “protections against pollution and climate change, improved labor standards in Mexico and certainty that the U.S. will regain jobs lost to Mexico.”
