Dallas (WBAP/KLIF) – Another Southwest Airlines flight made an emergency landing yesterday in West Texas.

The flight was on its way from Phoenix to Oklahoma City when it made the unplanned stop in Lubbock about 5:30pm.

The pilot reported some excess engine vibration and requested to land.

Air traffic controllers said they could see flames coming from one of the Boeing 737’s engines, but they were quickly put out.

A spokesperson for the Dallas-based company said its not unusual to burn excess fuel in this type of situation, but could not confirm a fire.
