FORT WORTH (WBAP/KLIF) – The City of Fort Worth is conducting public hearings to get citizen input on the 2019 budget. Assistant City Manager Fernando Costa said the $1.9 billion budget is designed to lower the property tax rate by 2 cents. He said since property values have been increasing from year to year, the tax revenue will actually be higher than last year. Costa said they are welcoming all comments from the public about the city’s spending priorities. The first hearing is Tuesday (8/28) at 7pm the second will be on September 11th at 7pm. The City is scheduled to vote on the budget and property tax rate on September 18th.
