FORT WORTH – (WBAP/KLIF) – Two people are confirmed dead; of 11 taken to area hospitals by Medstar bus, Medstar’s Matt Zavadsky reports 2 in critical condition, 3 in serious, and 6 with minor injuries not life-threatening. Zavadsky says 30 other non injured passengers were taken by Medstar Ambulance bus to a nearby retail business with air conditioning.
Zavadsky says it appears a large semi truck was trying to cross train tracks near the 13 thousand block of Calloway Cemetery Road, near Trinity and North Collins Streets. The train smashed into the dump truck, and both of the dead are believed to have been on that truck.
A transit related bus came to pick up the train passengers that were not injured, so they could continue their travels. Investigation is underway.
