Dallas – (WBAP/KLIF) – If you’ve been thinking about adding a cat or dog to your family, adopting this Saturday, or at least, getting out to more than 60 North Texas animal shelters might be a good time to find that new best friend.
This Saturday the shelters take part in the nationwide “Clear the Shelters” event, in which all adoption fees are waived. The movement has saved the lives of 150-thousand pets from euthanasia in the last several years.
The Dallas SPCA’s Maura Davies says potential adopters will still be interviewed by staff, to assure pets are going to be in a loving and safe home. For a list of shelters taking part in the nationwide event, visit http://cleartheshelters.org
