Dallas (WBAP/KLIF) – Severe drought conditions have expanded from Tarrant to Parker and Hood counties, and water levels are down three feet at Eagle Mountain Lake.
extreme drought conditions in Tarrant county have resulted in water levels at Eagle Mountain Lake levels down 3 feet.
The most recent drought monitor showed a small area Dallas county in the red zone.
White Rock Lake levels started the season high, and still look good.
The lake feeds into the ponds at the Dallas Arboretum. Dave Forehand, VP of Gardens at the arboretum says they’re hoping fall rain keeps lake levels high.
“It’s when you go from one season into the the next, no rain in summer and we have a dry fall, then we start to see the levels drop so hopefully we’ll see the rains we need in the fall that really keep those water levels high.”
Meantime, Eagle Mountain Lake posted an adorable young fisherman trying to get a small catch into his net.
