No Charges Expected After a Child Was Found Living Inside a Forth Flooring Store

Fort Worth (WBAP/KLIF) – Fort Worth Police are investigating a case involving an 8-year old boy who was living at the Next Day Floors store on Jacksboro Hghway for about 8-months …

Police received multiple tips about the situation, and after an investigation found out the child had been living there with a man the child called a “father figure.”

33-year old Joshua Jackson, who owns the store, reportedly claims to be the boy’s stepfather. The child is now protective custody.

Charges are not expected to be filed.  We have reached out to the Fort Worth Police Department for official comment.

The department released the following statement:

FWPD communications received an anonymous in reference to an 8 yoa who has been living in the business for about 1 week. During the course of the investigation, it was discovered the child has been living inside the business for about  8 months with who the child called a ‘father figure’…officers attempted to get a hold of the biological parents but were unsuccessful.  Officer took care, custody and control of the child and contacted CPS. The child was unharmed upon contact with the FWPD.
 
At this point of the investigation, it appears there will be no charges filed.
