President Donald Trump Makes His Pick for the U.S. Supreme Court

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) – President Donald Trump has announced his pick to the U.S. Supreme Court.  From the White House President Trump selected Brett Kavanaugh as his nominee to replace retiring Justice Anthony Kennedy. Justice Kennedy served for more than four decades.

Trump reportedly considered federal appeals court judges Brett Kavanaugh, Raymond Kethledge, Thomas Hardiman and Amy Coney Barrett. Kavanaugh is Trump’s second pick for the high court, as Neil Gorsuch replaced the late Antonin Scalia last year. Amy Barrett is a former law clerk for Justice Antonin Scalia. Brett Kavanaugh is on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia. Raymond Kethledge is on the Cincinnati-based 6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, and Thomas Hardiman serves on the 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of appeals in Philadelphia.

Senate leaders are already preparing their arguments for and against the nominee.
