Balch Springs Police Arrest Escaped Federal Inmate Wanted by Dallas FBI

DALLAS, Texas – The Dallas FBI Violent Crimes Task Force reports police have again arrested a 54 year old prisoner who escaped from a Seagoville prison Thursday night.  They say William Laurence Stanley was found hiding around a Highway 635 underpass in Balch Springs Friday night, and taken to the Balch Springs City Jail.

William Laurence Stanley was ordered to spend 97 months in federal prison, ordered to pay more than $5,605,000 in restitution for extortion, and another $174,000 in restitution to numerous victims connected with the crime.  Officials say Stanley targeted a Dallas based business.

He is described as six feet tall, 245 pounds, with no hair, and a tattoo on his forehead of a U.S. dollar bill with the word “CENSORED” in large black block lettering.  Stanley also has a tattoo on the back of his head quoting the First Amendment, reading, “Congress shall make no law abridging the freedom of speech”.  Police say he was wearing shorts and a hat at the time of his arrest, indicating he’d changed clothes since his prison escape.
