Kaufman County: Body of Missing 6-Year Autistic Boy Found in a Pond Overnight

Kaufman County (WBAP/KLIF) – The body of a 6-year autistic boy was found in a pond near his home early this morning.

Dalton Richardson had gone missing Sunday afternoon, wearing only a pull-up diaper, triggering a massive search involving 10 fire department, 8 police agencies and community members.

Kaufman county sheriff Bryan Beavers told reporters overnight, a follow-up investigation will determine if foul play was involved – at this point none is suspected.

The boy’s family says little Dalton apparently found a hidden key and unlocked the dead bolt on the door while rest of the family was napping.
