DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – Dallas County is again offering to temporarily house migrant children coming into the country illegally.
Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins says they must wait for the green light from the federal government.
“These are children just like your children and my children,” Jenkins said. “You can have any feelings you want to have about immigration but I hope we can all agree that children need to be treated compassionately.”
Children are being separated from their parents as families illegally cross into the United States cross the southern border with Mexico. Thousands are being housed in South Texas.
Dallas County made a similar offer in 2014 after an influx of migrant children came into the United States from Central America.
