(WBAP/KLIF News) – Fashion Designer Kate Spade has been found dead in her New York apartment from an apparent suicide. Authorities say housekeeping staff found her hanging in her Park Avenue apartment at about 10:20 a.m. Tuesday morning. Officials say a note was left at the scene but no details have been released.
Her company Kate Spade New York was founded in January of 1993 and since then she has accumulated a net worth of about $200 million dollars.
There are five Kate Spade New York outlets in the DFW metroplex found in NorthPark Center, Knox Henderson, Tanger Outlets Fort Worth, Grand Prairie Premium Outlets and Allen Premium Outlets.
More than 6,800 people were employed in over 175 international stores and more than 140 U.S. stores. The 55 year- old Spade designed handbags, clothing, shoes, jewelry and more.
