Ponder, TX (WBAP/KLIF) – The Ponder woman who survived a horrific multiple murder-suicide incident at her home Wednesday, took to Facebook Live from her hospital bed just hours after watching her 3 children being shot to death by her ex-husband.
Amanda Simpson’s divorce from Justin Painter was finalized just 3 months ago. In the Facebook Live post, she agonizes over her “babies.” She said, “Everytime I close my eyes, I see them dead.” She also says that during her divorce proceedings she told the judge that her ex had tried to commit suicide a year ago and that she felt he was very unstable. She says no one did anything about it.
Painter fatally shot his children and his ex-wife’s new boyfriend Wednesday morning at a home she was renting in Ponder.
She is being treated for a gunshot would to a shoulder. A small, but growing memorial has been created at a park near her home.
