Mom Who Left Toddlers in Hot Car to ‘Teach Lesson’ Sentenced to 20 Years in Prison

Dallas (WBAP/KLIF) – A Parker County jury in Weatherford sentenced 25-year old Cynthia Marie Randolph Monday to the maximum — two concurrent 20 year sentences for leaving her two toddlers in a hot car, resulting in their deaths last May.

The same jury had convicted Randolph hours earlier to two second degree felony counts of reckless serious injury to a child.

Randolph’s initial first degree felony charges could have led to life in prison for the deaths of 1-year old Cavanaugh and 2-year old Juliet Ramirez.

According to the arrest warrant, Randolph told police that she locked the children in the car for several hours to teach them a lesson because her daughter often got out of the car without permission.
