Fort Worth Woman Allegedly Shoots Arkansas State Trooper During Traffic Stop

Rockport, Arkansas (WBAP/KLIF) – A Fort Worth woman remain jailed after allegedly shooting an Arkansas state trooper during a traffic stop Sunday night.

Police say 49-year old Elsbeth Kittinger shot Trooper Kyler Sheldon after he asked her to step out of her Dodge pickup along US Highway 270 in South Arkansas.

Sheldon’s injuries were not life-threatening; he remains hospitalized in stable condition.

Kittinger was shot by a neighboring police unit which was nearby at the time. Officers were able to catch her as she tried to drive away from the scene. She was jailed after being treated and released from a hospital.
